3A halibut quota continued to move this week at pretty low prices. A block of 1,300 pounds 3ACB sold at $25.00 fished. Meanwhile, many buyers have long since quit buying, and halibut in Homer last week fetched $3.00 for 10-15 pounders, $4.00 for 15-20 pounders, $4.25 for the 20-40 pounders, and $4.50 for the 40 ups. As mentioned last week, all eyes are now on the upcoming virtual IPHC Interim Meeting.
Interest in sablefish quota, on the other hand, is still nonexistent. The NPFMC will hold its next meeting December 4-12 in Anchorage. We'll start to see more groundfish reports published ahead of that meeting. The comment period is open through December 1, so be sure to chime in before then!
