Research vessel rebuilt and converted to mid-water herring trawler in 2005. Twin CAT D 399 16-cyl 1300 hp diesels w/23,909 & 5,555 hrs. Masson 5:1 gear. 30" bow thruster. 90" 4-blade bronze props. 6" Aquamet 17 SS shafts. Drydocked winter 2017/2018 for extensive bottom maintenance including: withdrawing both tail shafts, propeller reconditioning & new sonar.
Pilothouse: shatterproof 360 degree windows, (3) pilot chairs, central control console and aft winch control/steering station. Complete electronics. New trawl sonar in 2018.
(2) 500 kW CAT gensets driven by CAT 3412 diesels. 125 kW backup genset driven by 4-cyl CAT diesel.
Packs 436 metric tons in (8) RSW holds. Holger Anderson 550-ton RSW with 1/2-ton ammonia plant. (2) 3" Vacuum pumps w/SS tank.
Deck equipment: steel A-frame structure w/articulating gallows fit with trawl blocks. Hydraulic crane. Net reel for sounder cable. Fish sorter, conveyer system. Cable winches for mid & tail-line trawls, king posts support handing blocks. Hydraulic 3-ton crane. Main trawl winches port & stbd fit w/levelwinders. (2) Net reels. Anchor windlass. Stockless anchor w/rode.
Electric bus heaters. Main deck: lounge area and (4) single-berth rooms each w/separate head & shower. Below deck: fully equipped galley, work shop, (3) two-berth staterooms, enclosed head, shower room fwd & laundry aft.
38,000 gal fuel in (6) tanks. (2) 60-gal electric hot water heaters.
